German Dictionaries

dict.cc
The goal of dict.cc is to make it possible to share your vocabulary knowledge with the world. This is the main difference to other translation services - every user is encouraged to contribute to the dictionary by adding and/or verifying English-German translation suggestions.
Word Mirror
Word Mirror is an easy to use German English Online Dictionary based on open source word lists and user contributions. It offers the advantage of finding any word, regardless of inflection, declination, or conjugation. This is important for new German language students who don't know what keyword they should be searching for. For example, a search for"lief"will display"laufen".
Beolingus
We chose the BEO (German for Hill Myna) as our symbol, because this amazing bird is a very communicative one, gathering and imitating words and noises. The word "Beo" comes from Indonesia and means "chatterbox". In South-Eastern Asia, the Beo is well known as a really communicative buddy, which talks a lot to its companions. You can find more information at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hill_Myna.
